FAQs
Why should I adopt a Minskin?
Minskins are unusually affectionate, intelligent and playful, and great with kids, adults and other household pets. Plus, they’re hypoallergenic, have a healthy constitution, and don’t require brushing. Not only is this breed adorable, they make cat ownership easy and rewarding — and they’re the reason we became breeders in the first place.
What are the different types of Minskins?
The standard Minskin has short legs. The Teddy Rex Minskin has long legs. Minskin coats can be velvet, fur-pointed, or rex coated.
Why should I adopt from Cat Skills Cattery?
Our cats and kittens are never put in cages; they sleep with us, eat with us and play with us every day. Honestly, they’re always underfoot, and that’s why Cat Skills Cattery kitties are not just well adjusted but the reason we call cats man’s best friend.
All of our kittens are fed an exclusively raw diet. This provides them with the nutrition their digestive system was designed to consume, giving them the healthiest possible start to their lives. We are here to help guide you through that process, and provide you with an exclusive 20%-off coupon on your first food purchase. Proper nutrition, paired with the way we raise our kittens — that’s why there’s truly no Minskin cattery like Cat Skills Cattery.
In fact, unlike the bigger, busier catteries, we offer lifetime support to all our adoptive families, always answer questions within 24 hours, and offer on-call support for emergencies. Plus, if we don’t know an answer, we have mentors who do.
How do you ensure the health of your breeding cats and Minskin kittens?
We use a licensed veterinary Cardiologist to HCM scan all of our breeding cats at one year of age and every 2 years thereafter.
All of our breeding cats are DNA tested via Wisdom Panel. They are also tested annually to ensure they are negative for HIV and feline leukemia.
Our kittens have negative fecal exams, come with a health certificate and health guarantee.

Are your Minskin cats and kittens registered?
Yes, Cat Skills Cattery is TICA-registered cattery, and all of our cats and kittens are registered by TICA.
Do you have Minskin kittens for sale?
As a family-owned cattery, all our breeding cats (and their kittens) live with us at home, and we treat them like the pets they are. In other words, we put their health and happiness first, which means we don’t overbreed any of our queens and may not always have kittens for adoption. Of course, with many breeding cats we often do.
How do I start the Minskin adoption process?
We recommend you review our Adoption page, and then complete the form to express your interest. We’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
How much do you charge for Minskin kittens?
The adoption fee for a Cat Skills Cattery Standard Minskin, short legs is $3,000. For a Minskin with long legs (Teddy Rex), the adoption fee is $2,400. For dominant blue eyes or odd eyes, add $500 to the base adoption fee.
We live far from Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania. Can we still adopt a kitten from Cat Skills Cattery?
Absolutely. We will deliver anywhere; however, the health and happiness of our kittens are our top priorities, so we only use personal transport and never ship our kitties in cargo. For more information about our transportation options, please click here and scroll down.
